Implementing a systematic approach to project management can drastically improve the outcomes for an initiative as well as create a more efficient workflow in information organizations. This course is designed to provide an introduction to project management strategies and implementation for the information professional. The primary focus of the course will be on the core values of project management. This course is not specific to technology project management.

Learning Outcomes
 

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of project management and the role of the project manager
  • Identify the project life-cycle phases
  • Evaluate strategies to manage the difficult project


Instructor: Jodie Borgerding

Jodie Borgerding joins Amigos Library Services as the Consulting & Education Services Manager. She will oversee the development of training opportunities and provide direct consulting services to Amigos members. Jodie has experience in association management, staff development, and academic libraries.

Prior to joining Amigos, Jodie served as the Instruction Librarian and Subject Liaison for Webster University in St. Louis, MO. She is also a past-president of the Missouri Library Association, and is an active member of the American Library Association and Association of College & Research Libraries. Jodie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Missouri State University and a Master of Library Science degree from University of Missouri-Columbia. She is currently working on a Master of Media Communications degree from Webster University.
